Fair question. On those platforms you're renting an empty flat — you'd need to arrange furniture, get the internet connected, hire someone for cleaning, sort out the electricity bill separately. With us, everything is already in place from day one. It costs a bit more per month, but most of our guests tell us it actually works out cheaper once you add up what a bare flat really costs to set up.
